Brown Bag: Airport as Mobile Method

Why should we research airports? Can airports be seen as a mobile method? What are the methodological challenges of airport studies? Which particular problems do airport researchers face in relation to getting access to the field? How can data be collected in complex airports that are highly controlled, monitored, commercialized and privatized? Which methods and techniques can be used to overcome such challenges? These are some of the methodological and applied dimensions of airport research which this presentation will address and reflect upon. The presentation is based on a forthcoming book-chapter.
